Phenomenon explanation:
The possible reasons that the actual band size differs from the predicted are as follows:
1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene.
2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein.
3. Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc.
4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form.
5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc.
Usage
Reconstitute in ddH2O to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
Preparation and Storage
Storage:
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8°C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80°C for 12 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimer to certain DNA regulatory regions. It can also form heterodimers with the related protein CEBP-alpha. The encoded protein is important in the regulation of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses, and may be involved in the regulation of genes associated with activation and/or differentiation of macrophages. The cytogenetic location of this locus has been reported as both 8p11 and 8q11. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Uniprot Description

C/EBP-delta: C/EBP is a DNA-binding protein that recognizes two different motifs: the CCAAT homology common to many promoters and the enhanced core homology common to many enhancers. Important transcriptional activator in the regulation of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses, may play an important role in the regulation of the several genes associated with activation and/or differentiation of macrophages. Binds DNA as a dimer and can form stable heterodimers with C/EBP alpha. Interacts with SPI1/PU.1. Interacts with PRDM16. Belongs to the bZIP family. C/EBP subfamily.

Product Notes

The CEBPd cebpd (Catalog #AAA2033370) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E.coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant CCAAT/Enhancer Binding Protein Delta (CEBPd) reacts with Homo sapiens (Human) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CCAAT/Enhancer Binding Protein Delta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; Western Blot (WB). (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEBPd cebpd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: AMYDDESAID FSAYIDSMAA VPTLELCHDE LFADLFNSNH KAGGAGPLEL LPGGPARPLG PGPAAPRLLK REPDWGDGDA PGSLLPAQVA ACAQTVVSLA AAGQPTPPTS PEPPRSSPRQ TPAPGPAREK SAGKRGPDRG SPEYRQRRER NNIAVRKSRD KAKRRNQEMQ QKLVELSAEN EKLHQRVEQL TRDLAGLRQF FK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCAAT/Enhancer Binding Protein Delta, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
