Related Product Information for CDC42 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant full length human CDC42 was expressed in E Coli cells using an N-dual GST/His tag.
Scientific Background: CDC42 is a member of the Rho family of GTPases and is part of cellular pathways fundamental to growth, differentiation and apoptosis (1). Downstream targets for CDC42 include those that regulate the actin cytoskeleton (e.g. WASP) and cellular stress pathways (e.g. PAK) as well as the coatomer protein complex and PAR6. CDC42 is involved in the G (1)-S progression of the cell cycle. CDC42 and its downstream effector mDia3 are involved in bi-orientation and stabilization of spindle microtubules attachment to kinetochores and regulate chromosome alignment and segregation during mitosis (2).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a small GTPase of the Rho-subfamily, which regulates signaling pathways that control diverse cellular functions including cell morphology, migration, endocytosis and cell cycle progression. This protein is highly similar to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc 42, and is able to complement the yeast cdc42-1 mutant. The product of oncogene Dbl was reported to specifically catalyze the dissociation of GDP from this protein. This protein could regulate actin polymerization through its direct binding to Neural Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (N-WASP), which subsequently activates Arp2/3 complex. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene have been identified on chromosomes 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 20. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

Uniprot Description

Plasma membrane-associated small GTPase which cycles between an active GTP-bound and an inactive GDP-bound state. In active state binds to a variety of effector proteins to regulate cellular responses. Involved in epithelial cell polarization processes. Regulates the bipolar attachment of spindle microtubules to kinetochores before chromosome congression in metaphase. Plays a role in the extension and maintenance of the formation of thin, actin-rich surface projections called filopodia. Mediates CDC42-dependent cell migration. Required for DOCK10-mediated spine formation in Purkinje cells and hippocampal neurons. Facilitates filopodia formation upon DOCK11-activation ().

Product Notes

The CDC42 cdc42 (Catalog #AAA515462) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full length. AAA Biotech's CDC42 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Enzyme Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDC42 cdc42 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDC42, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
