Sialic Acid Binding Ig-like Lectin 3 Recombinant Protein | Cd33 recombinant protein
Recombinant Mouse Sialic Acid Binding Ig-like Lectin 3 Protein
Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7 degree C for 2-7 days.
Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20 degree C for 3 months.
Background: Mouse myeloid cell surface antigen CD33(CD33) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. CD33 contains one Ig-like C2-type domain and one Ig-like V-type domain. CD33 is a putative adhesion molecule of myelomonocytic-derived cells that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. CD33 preferentially binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In the immune response, CD33 may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. CD33 induces apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemia. CD33 is becoming increasingly important as a target of antibody-mediated therapy in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Uniprot Description
Sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) that plays a role in mediating cell-cell interactions and in maintaining immune cells in a resting state (). Preferentially binds sialic acid to the short O-linked glycans of certain mucins (PubMed:12773563).

Product Notes
The Cd33 cd33 (Catalog #AAA2556764) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sialic Acid Binding Ig-like Lectin 3, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
