Background: The cluster of differentiation (CD) system is commonly used as cell markers in immunophynotyping. Different kinds of cells in the immune system can be identified through the surface CD molecules which associating with the immune function of the cell. There are more than 320 CD unique clusters and subclusters have been identified. Some of the CD molecules serve as receptors or ligands important to the cell through initiating a signal cascade which then alter the behavior of the cell. Some CD proteins do not take part in cell signal process but have other functions such as cell adhesion. Cell surface glycoprotein CD200 receptor 1 (CD200R1) is an isoform of CD200 receptors which is expressed on cells of the myeloid lineage. CD200R1 is a receptor for the OX-2 membrane glycoprotein. The receptor-substrate interaction may serve as a myeloid downregulatory signal.

Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human CD200R1 (AAI43394.1) extracellular domain (Met 1-Leu 266) was fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for the OX-2 membrane glycoprotein. Both the receptor and substrate are cell surface glycoproteins containing two immunoglobulin-like domains. This receptor is restricted to the surfaces of myeloid lineage cells and the receptor-substrate interaction may function as a myeloid downregulatory signal. Mouse studies of a related gene suggest that this interaction may control myeloid function in a tissue-specific manner. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CD200R: Receptor for the CD200/OX2 cell surface glycoprotein. Also binds to HHV-8 K14 viral CD200 homolog with identical affinity and kinetics as the host CD200. Belongs to the CD200R family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CD200R1 / CD200R cd200r1 (Catalog #AAA2545860) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The secreted recombinant human CD200R1 comprises 251 amino acids after removal of the signal peptide and has a predicted molecular mass of 28.2 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, rh CD200R1 migrates as an approximately 50-60 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD200R1 / CD200R cd200r1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD200R1 / CD200R, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
