Description: CD14 produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 357 amino acids (16-366a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 38.3kDa. (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa). CD14 is expressed with a 6 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

CD14: Cooperates with MD-2 and TLR4 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.
