Uniprot Description

Function: C-type cytochrome. Part of the cbb3-type cytochrome c oxidase complex. CcoP subunit is required for transferring electrons from donor cytochrome c via its heme groups to CcoO subunit. From there, electrons are shuttled to the catalytic binuclear center of CcoN subunit where oxygen reduction takes place. The complex also functions as a proton pump

By similarity.

Cofactor: Binds 2 heme C groups per subunit

By similarity.

Pathway: Energy metabolism; oxidative phosphorylation.

Subunit structure: Component of the cbb3-type cytochrome c oxidase at least composed of CcoN, CcoO, CcoQ and CcoP

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Cell inner membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the CcoP / FixP family.Contains 2 cytochrome c domains.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cbb3-type cytochrome c oxidase subunit CcoP (ccoP), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
