Related Product Information for MCP-1 recombinant protein
Recombinant mouse MCP-1 is 13.8 kDa peptide corresponding to full-length mature mouse monocyte chemotactic protein 1. MCP-1, otherwise known as CCL2 or JE, is a secreted chemokine involved in the recruitment of monocytes to sites of injury or inflammation (Lu, B. et al., 1998).

NCBI Description

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on chromosome 11. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and memory T cells but not for neutrophils. The human ortholog has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

CCL13: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. Plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes at both sides of allergic and non-allergic inflammation. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. May play a role in the monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens. By IL1/interleukin-1 and TNF. Widely expressed. Found in small intestine, thymus, colon, lung, trachea, stomach and lymph node. Low levels seen in the pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The MCP-1 ccl2 (Catalog #AAA232337) is a Recombinant Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MCP-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.2; Maximum Dilution: 0.4ng/well; Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 1.0; Maximum Dilution: 20ng/ml; Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1.5; Maximum Dilution: 3.0ng/lane. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCP-1 ccl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCP-1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
