Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Canine Melanoma-associated Antigen D4 (also known as MAGED4/MAGED4B) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Canine MAGED4/MAGED4B antibody. MAGED4/MAGED4B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Canine MAGED4/MAGED4B Antibody is added and binds to MAGED4/MAGED4B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MAGED4/MAGED4B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Canine MAGED4/MAGED4B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

MYBPC3 encodes the cardiac isoform of myosin-binding protein C. Myosin-binding protein C is a myosin-associated protein found in the cross-bridge-bearing zone (C region) of A bands in striated muscle. MYBPC3, the cardiac isoform, is expressed exclussively in heart muscle. Regulatory phosphorylation of the cardiac isoform in vivo by cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) upon adrenergic stimulation may be linked to modulation of cardiac contraction. Mutations in MYBPC3 are one cause of familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
