Related Product Information for PI / RNase Staining Buffer buffer
Propidium iodide (or PI) is an intercalating agent and a fluorescent molecule with a molecular mass of 668.4 Da that can be used to stain cells. When excited with 488 nm wavelength light, it fluoresces red. PI binds to both DNA and RNA, so the latter must be removed by digestion with ribonucleases. The content of DNA as determined by flow cytometry, can reveal useful information about the cell cycle and the proteins involved in the regulation of the cell cycle. This reagent may be used to analyze cell cycle by flow cytometry in addition to use with antibodies for examining the expression of proteins during the cell cycle.

Product Notes

The PI / RNase Staining Buffer (Catalog #AAA355225) is a Buffer and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's PI / RNase Staining Buffer can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PI / RNase Staining Buffer for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PI / RNase Staining Buffer, Buffer" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
