Bovine BMP-2-inducible protein kinase (BMP2K) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay||BMP2K ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a Polyclonal anti-BMP2K antibody and an BMP2K-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with BMP2K-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the BMP2K concentration since BMP2K from samples and BMP2K-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-BMP2K antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by BMP2K from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind BMP2K-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The BMP2K concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is the human homolog of mouse BMP-2-inducible kinase. Bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) play a key role in skeletal development and patterning. Expression of the mouse gene is increased during BMP-2 induced differentiation and the gene product is a putative serine/threonine protein kinase containing a nuclear localization signal. Therefore, the protein encoded by this human homolog is thought to be a protein kinase with a putative regulatory role in attenuating the program of osteoblast differentiation. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes
The Bovine BMP2K bmp2k (Catalog #AAA7200703) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7200703 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine BMP2K. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMP-2-inducible protein kinase (BMP2K), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
