SEMA3A Antibody (Center) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
SEMA3A; HH16; SemD; COLL1; SEMA1; SEMAD; SEMAL; coll-1; Hsema-I; SEMAIII; Hsema-III
Synonyms
SEMA3A; SEMA3A Antibody (Center) Blocking Peptide; Semaphorin-3A; Semaphorin III; Sema III; SEMAD; SEMA3A blocking peptide
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
771
Cellular Location
Secreted.
Function
Involved in the development of the olfactory system and in neuronal control of puberty. Induces the collapse and paralysis of neuronal growth cones. Could serve as a ligand that guides specific growth cones by a motility-inhibiting mechanism. Binds to the complex neuropilin-1/plexin-1.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody MBS9207933 was selected from the Center region of human SEMA3A. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Tissue Location
Expressed in the dorsal root ganglia.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.
Related Product Information for SEMA3A blocking peptide
SEMA3A is a member of the semaphorin family with an Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, a PSI domain and a Sema domain. This secreted protein can function as either a chemorepulsive agent, inhibiting axonal outgrowth, or as a chemoattractive agent, stimulating the growth of apical dendrites. In both cases, the protein is vital for normal neuronal pattern development. Increased expression of this protein is associated with schizophrenia and is seen in a variety of human tumor cell lines. Also, aberrant release of this protein is associated with the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Product Notes

The SEMA3A sema3a (Catalog #AAA9227230) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SEMA3A, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
