SAE2 (UBA2) Blocking Peptide | UBA2 blocking peptide

SAE2 (UBA2) Antibody (C-term E616) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
UBA2; ARX; SAE2; HRIHFB2115
Synonyms
SAE2 (UBA2); SAE2 (UBA2) Antibody (C-term E616) Blocking peptide; SUMO-activating enzyme subunit 2; 632-; Anthracycline-associated resistance ARX; Ubiquitin-like 1-activating enzyme E1B; Ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 2; UBA2; SAE2; UBLE1B; UBA2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human UBA2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
640
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Note: Shuttles between the cytoplasm and the nucleus, sumoylation is required either for nuclear translocation or nuclear retention
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for UBA2 blocking peptide
The heterodimer acts as a E1 ligase for SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3, and probably SUMO4. It mediates ATP-dependent activation of SUMO proteins followed by formation of a thioester bond between a SUMO protein and a conserved active site cysteine residue on UBA2/SAE2.

NCBI Description

Posttranslational modification of proteins by the addition of the small protein SUMO (see SUMO1; MIM 601912), or sumoylation, regulates protein structure and intracellular localization. SAE1 (MIM 613294) and UBA2 form a heterodimer that functions as a SUMO-activating enzyme for the sumoylation of proteins (Okuma et al., 1999 [PubMed 9920803]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

SAE2: a protein of the ubiquitin-activating E1 family. Acts as a UBL1 E1 ligase. Mediates ATP-dependent activation of UBL1 and formation of a thiolester with a conserved cysteine residue on SAE2.

Protein type: EC 6.3.2.19; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Ubiquitin conjugating system; EC 6.3.2.-; Ubiquitin ligase; Ligase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q12

Cellular Component: cytosol; nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: enzyme activator activity; protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; SUMO activating enzyme activity

Biological Process: protein sumoylation

Product Notes

The UBA2 uba2 (Catalog #AAA9217761) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SAE2 (UBA2), Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
