PACSIN2 blocking peptide

PACSIN2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
PACSIN2; SDPII
Synonyms
PACSIN2; PACSIN2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; Protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons protein 2; Syndapin-2; Syndapin-II; PACSIN2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human PACSIN2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
486
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cytoplasmic vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Early endosome Recycling endosome membrane. Cell projection, ruffle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection. Membrane, caveola. Note: Detected at the neck of flask-shaped caveolae. Localization to tubular recycling endosomes probably requires interaction with MICALL1 and EHD1
Tissue Location
Widely expressed.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for PACSIN2 blocking peptide
Lipid-binding protein that is able to promote the tubulation of the phosphatidic acid-containing membranes it preferentially binds. Plays a role in intracellular vesicle- mediated transport. Involved in the endocytosis of cell-surface receptors like the EGF receptor, contributing to its internalization in the absence of EGF stimulus. May also play a role in the formation of caveolae at the cell membrane. Recruits DNM2 to caveolae, and thereby plays a role in caveola-mediated endocytosis.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons family. The encoded protein is involved in linking the actin cytoskeleton with vesicle formation by regulating tubulin polymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

PACSIN2: May play a role in vesicle formation and transport. Belongs to the PACSIN family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.2-q13.33

Cellular Component: caveola; cytoplasm; extrinsic to membrane; focal adhesion; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; nucleoplasm; recycling endosome membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; transporter activity

Biological Process: cell projection morphogenesis; regulation of endocytosis

Product Notes

The PACSIN2 pacsin2 (Catalog #AAA9227528) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PACSIN2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
