MYT1 (PKMYT1) Blocking Peptide | PKMYT1 blocking peptide

MYT1 (PKMYT1) Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
PKMYT1; MYT1; PPP1R126
Synonyms
MYT1 (PKMYT1); MYT1 (PKMYT1) Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; Membrane-associated tyrosine- and threonine-specific cdc2-inhibitory kinase; Myt1 kinase; PKMYT1; MYT1; PKMYT1 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the c-terminal region of human PKMYT1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
499
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Golgi apparatus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for PKMYT1 blocking peptide
Acts as a negative regulator of entry into mitosis (G2 to M transition) by phosphorylation of the CDK1 kinase specifically when CDK1 is complexed to cyclins. Mediates phosphorylation of CDK1 predominantly on 'Thr-14'. Also involved in Golgi fragmentation. May be involved in phosphorylation of CDK1 on 'Tyr-15' to a lesser degree, however tyrosine kinase activity is unclear and may be indirect. May be a downstream target of Notch signaling pathway during eye development.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. The encoded protein is a membrane-associated kinase that negatively regulates the G2/M transition of the cell cycle by phosphorylating and inactivating cyclin-dependent kinase 1. The activity of the encoded protein is regulated by polo-like kinase 1. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]

Uniprot Description

Myt1: a dual specificity protein kinase of the WEE family. Preferentially phosphorylates and inactivates cell division cycle 2 protein (CDC2), and thus negatively regulates cell cycle G2/M transition. This kinase is associated with the membrane throughout the cell cycle. Its activity is highly regulated during the cell cycle. Alternative splice-variant isoforms have been reported.

Protein type: Protein kinase, dual-specificity (non-receptor); Protein kinase, Other; EC 2.7.11.1; Kinase, protein; Other group; WEE family

Product Notes

The PKMYT1 pkmyt1 (Catalog #AAA9226662) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYT1 (PKMYT1), Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
