GCC2 blocking peptide
GCC2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein localized to the trans-Golgi network. It is sensitive to brefeldin A. This encoded protein contains a GRIP domain which is thought to be used in targeting. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]
Uniprot Description
GCC2: Golgin which probably tethers transport vesicles to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and regulates vesicular transport between the endosomes and the Golgi. As a RAB9A effector it is involved in recycling of the mannose 6-phosphate receptor from the late endosomes to the TGN. May also play a role in transport between the recycling endosomes and the Golgi. Required for maintenance of the Golgi structure, it is involved in the biogenesis of noncentrosomal, Golgi-associated microtubules through recruitment of CLASP1 and CLASP2. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, peripheral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q12.3
Cellular Component: cytosol; Golgi apparatus; membrane; trans-Golgi network
Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding
Biological Process: Golgi to plasma membrane protein transport; microtubule organizing center organization and biogenesis; protein localization in Golgi apparatus; protein targeting to lysosome; retrograde transport, endosome to Golgi

Product Notes
The GCC2 gcc2 (Catalog #AAA9217477) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GCC2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
