NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene has both protein-tyrosine phophatase activity and serine/threonine-specific phosphatase activity, and therefore is known as a dual specificity phosphatase. This protein may function in the differentiation of oligodendrocytes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]

Uniprot Description

DUSP15: belongs to the non-receptor class of the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. The encoded protein has both protein-tyrosine phophatase activity and serine/threonine-specific phosphatase activity, and therefore is known as a dual specificity phosphatase. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; EC 3.1.3.16; Protein phosphatase, dual-specificity; EC 3.1.3.48

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.21

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of JNK cascade; regulation of cell proliferation; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway

Product Notes

The DUSP15 dusp15 (Catalog #AAA9227649) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DUSP15, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
