ZLN024 is an allosteric activator of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) heterotrimers (EC50s = 0.42 and 0.95 uM for alpha1beta1gamma1 and alpha2beta1gamma1, respectively. Inhibits dephosphorylation of AMPK Thr-172 by PP2Calpha. Stimulates glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation without increasing the ADP/ATP ratio.
