Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Human AVPR1B antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human AVPR1B antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human AVPR1B amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human AVPR1B can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene acts as receptor for arginine vasopressin. This receptor belongs to the subfamily of G-protein coupled receptors which includes AVPR1A, V2R and OXT receptors. Its activity is mediated by G proteins which stimulate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The receptor is primarily located in the anterior pituitary, where it stimulates ACTH release. It is expressed at high levels in ACTH-secreting pituitary adenomas as well as in bronchial carcinoids responsible for the ectopic ACTH syndrome. A spliced antisense transcript of this gene has been reported but its function is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

AVPR1B: Receptor for arginine vasopressin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate a phosphatidyl- inositol-calcium second messenger system. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Vasopressin/oxytocin receptor subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32

Cellular Component: cytosol; endosome; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: peptide binding; protein kinase C binding; vasopressin receptor activity

Biological Process: cellular response to hormone stimulus; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; phospholipase C activation; positive regulation of vasoconstriction; regulation of systemic arterial blood pressure by vasopressin

Product Notes

The Human AVPR1B avpr1b (Catalog #AAA760074) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA760074 ELISA Kit recognizes Human AVPR1B. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vasopressin V1b receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
