Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene has been found in all vertebrate genomes sequenced to date. However, this gene has undergone a change in function in placental mammals compared to other species. Specifically, in fish, avian, and amphibian species, this gene encodes plasma membrane-bound beta-subunits of Na,K-ATPase. In placental mammals, the encoded protein interacts with the nuclear transcriptional coregulator SKIP and may be involved in the regulation of TGF-beta signaling. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

ATP1B4: May act as a transcriptional coregulator during muscle development through its interaction with SNW1. Has lost its ancestral function as a Na,K-ATPase beta-subunit. Belongs to the X(+)/potassium ATPases subunit beta family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq24

Cellular Component: chromatin; integral to plasma membrane; nuclear envelope; nuclear inner membrane; sodium:potassium-exchanging ATPase complex

Molecular Function: monovalent inorganic cation transmembrane transporter activity

Biological Process: gene expression; monovalent inorganic cation transport; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription, DNA-dependent; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; transport

The ATP1b4 atp1b4 (Catalog #AAA2033643) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's ATPase, Na+/K+ Transporting Beta 4 Polypeptide can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATP1b4 atp1b4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MLFLAISPY MPTFTEQVKP PGVMIRPFAH SLNFNFNVSE PETWQRYVIS LNGFLQGYND SLQEEMNIDC PPGQYFIQDG DEDEDKKACQ FKRSFLKNCS GLEDPTFGYS TGQPCILLKM NRIVGFRPEF GDPVKVSCKV QKGDENDIRS INYYPESASF DLRYYPYYGK LTHVNYTSPL VAMHFTDVVK NQEVPVQCQL KGKGIVNDVI NDRFVGRIIF TLNIET. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATPase, Na+/K+ Transporting Beta 4 Polypeptide, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
