NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is part of a large protein complex that is necessary for autophagy, the major process by which intracellular components are targeted to lysosomes for degradation. Defects in this gene are a cause of susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease type 10 (IBD10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]
Uniprot Description
ATG16: Plays an essential role in autophagy. Homooligomer. Interacts with ATG5. Part of either the minor and major complexes respectively composed of 4 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (400 kDa) or 8 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (800 kDa). Belongs to the WD repeat ATG16 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human ATG16L1 atg16l1 (Catalog #
AAA9316757) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9316757 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ATG16L1.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"ATG16 autophagy related 16-like 1 (S. cerevisiae), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
