Principle of the assay: ANAb ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing Nuclear antigen and an ANAb-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ANAb-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ANAb concentration since ANAb from samples and ANAb-HRP conjugate compete for the Nuclear antigen binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ANAb from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ANAb-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ANAb concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the BTG/Tob family. This family has structurally related proteins that appear to have antiproliferative properties. This encoded protein might play a role in neurogenesis in the central nervous system. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

BTG3: Overexpression impairs serum-induced cell cycle progression from the G0/G1 to S phase. Belongs to the BTG family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q21.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The Rat ANA btg3 (Catalog #AAA730007) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA730007 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ANA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anti-nuclear, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
