Principle of the Assay: LRPAP1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-LRPAP1 antibody and an LRPAP1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with LRPAP1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the LRPAP1 concentration since LRPAP1 from samples and LRPAP1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-LRPAP1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by LRPAP1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind LRPAP1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The LRPAP1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that interacts with the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor-related protein and facilitates its proper folding and localization by preventing the binding of ligands. Mutations in this gene have been identified in individuals with myopia 23. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]

Uniprot Description

LRPAP1: Interacts with LRP1/alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor and glycoprotein 330. In complex with the alpha-2-MR or gp330, it may have some role in the pathogenesis of membrane glomerular nephritis. Belongs to the alpha-2-MRAP family.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.

Product Notes

The Sheep Alpha-2-MRAP lrpap1 (Catalog #AAA751410) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA751410 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep Alpha-2-MRAP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor-associated protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
