Scientific Background: p38α (SAPK2A) is a member of the p38 MAPK family which are activated by various environmental stresses and proinflammatory cytokines (1). The activation of p38 requires its phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), or its autophosphorylation triggered by the interaction of MAP3K7IP1/TAB1 protein with this kinase (2). The substrates of p38 include transcription regulator ATF2, MEF2C, and MAX, cell cycle regulator CDC25B, and tumor suppressor p53, which suggest the roles of this kinase in stress related transcription and cell cycle regulation, as well as in genotoxic stress response (5).

The p38 alpha mapk14 (Catalog #AAA72930) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is tag-free!!Expression System||E.coli!!Source Note||Recombinant full-length human p38alpha expressed in E. coli cells!!Accession Number||NM 139012!!Gene Aliases||CSBP1; CSBP2; CSBP1; PRKM15; SAPK2A; MAPK14. AAA Biotech's p38 alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), Kinase Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the p38 alpha mapk14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p38 alpha, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
