Myeloperoxidase Active Protein | Mpo active protein
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) Antigen, Human Neutrophil - pANCA
Appearance: Clear, greenish Liquid
Custom preparations, technical support, bulk quantities and aliquoting available.
Rz is an abbreviation for Reinheitszahl (purity number). It is the ratio of absorbance at 430 nm (heme)/ 280 nm (total protein). It is a measure of the purity of the enzyme. Anything above 0.8 is highly pure.
MPO is a peroxidase enzyme occurs the most in neutrophil granulocytes (a subtype of white blood cells). It is a lysosomal protein stored in azurophilic granules of the neutrophil. Myeloperoxidase has a green heme pigment and is found in pus and some forms of mucus. It is recognized as an important factor in many inflammatory diseases such as cardiovascular and neurological diseases. MPO-specific imaging agents would thus be highly useful to identify early disease, monitor disease progression, and quantify treatment effects.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
MPO: Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Each monomer consists of a light and a heavy chain. Belongs to the peroxidase family. XPO subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Mpo mpo (Catalog #AAA173160) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myeloperoxidase, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
