Related Product Information for Il1b active protein
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta), is a 17.5 kDa proinflammatory, cell-associated cytokine, produced by monocytes, tissue macrophages, keratinocytes and other epithelial cells. IL-1 beta promotes the proliferation of memory T cells and cytokine production. It attenuates regulatory T cell function and enables CD4+CD25- autoreactive effectors to avoid suppression. IL-1 beta signals downstream of myc and is required for angiogenesis and invasiveness of tumour cells. IL-1 beta is directly involved in neuronal injury in neurodegenerative disorders, and stimulates mitogenic FGF-like activity, bone resorption and promotes the release of collagenase and prostaglandin from synovial cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is produced by activated macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed to its active form by caspase 1. The encoded protein plays a role in thymocyte proliferation and is involved in the inflammatory response. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Uniprot Description

IL1B: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Monomer. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The Il1b il1b (Catalog #AAA232363) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IL-1 BETA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.2; Maximum Dilution: 0.4ng/well; Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1.5; Maximum Dilution: 3.0ng/lane. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Il1b il1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1 BETA, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
