Related Product Information for GH active protein
GH is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones which play an important role in growth control. The gene, along with four other related genes, is located at the growth hormone locus on chromosome 17 where they are interspersed in the same transcriptional orientation; an arrangement which is thought to have evolved by a series of gene duplications. The five genes share a remarkably high degree of sequence identity. Alternative splicing generates additional isoforms of each of the five growth hormones, leading to further diversity and potential for specialization. This particular family member is expressed in the pituitary but not in placental tissue as is the case for the other four genes in the growth hormone locus. Growth Hormone Chicken Recombinant (cGH) produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 191aa with an additional Ala at its N-terminus and having a molecular mass of 22255D. GH Chicken recombinant is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Product Notes

The GH gh (Catalog #AAA635876) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ala-Thr-Ph e-Pro-Ala. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Growth Hormone, Chicken, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
