Related Product Information for AM cell staining
Description: Calcein AM is a cell-permeable dye.
Background: Calcein AM is a cell-permeable dye that, upon entering live cells, is cleaved by intracellular esterases, leaving membrane-impermeant calcein, a fluorescent indicator with absorption and emission maxima of 494 and 517nm, respectively. It can be used as an indicator of cell viability, cell-cell communication, cytotoxicity, or changes in intracellular calcium, fluoride, iron, or mercury. As calcein is a substrate for multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1) and multidrug resistance protein 3 (MDR3, P-glycoprotein 3), calcein AM is used to study these proteins and their regulation.

Product Notes

The AM (Catalog #AAA9719178) is a Cell Staining and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcein AM, Cell Staining" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
