Related Product Information for anti-K2C1 antibody
Function: May regulate the activity of kinases such as PKC and SRC via binding to integrin beta-1 (ITB1) and the receptor of activated protein C kinase 1 (RACK1). In complex with C1QBP is a high affinity receptor for kininogen-1/HMWK.
Subunit Structure: Heterotetramer of two type I and two type II keratins. Heterodimer with KRT10 (PubMed:27595935). Two heterodimers of KRT1 and KRT10 form a heterotetramer (PubMed:27595935). Interacts with ITGB1 in the presence of RACK1 and SRC, and with RACK1 (PubMed:17956333). Interacts with C1QBP; the association represents a cell surface kininogen receptor (PubMed:21544310). Interacts with EPPK1; interaction is dependent of higher-order structure of intermediate filament (PubMed:16923132).
Post-translational Modifications: Undergoes deimination of some arginine residues (citrullination).
Similarity: Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis with family member KRT10 and mutations in these genes have been associated with bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The K2C1 krt1 (Catalog #AAA9604068) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The K2C1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's K2C1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500 ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000 IMPORTANT: For western blot, incubate membrane with diluted primary Ab in 5% w/v milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween®20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the K2C1 krt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "K2C1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
