Peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 1 (Acox1) Recombinant Protein | Acox1 recombinant protein
Recombinant Rat Peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 1 (Acox1)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
catalyzes the oxidation of fatty acyl CoA to trans-2-enoyl-CoA and peroxide [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Catalyzes the desaturation of acyl-CoAs to 2-trans-enoyl-CoAs. Isoform 1 shows highest activity against medium-chain fatty acyl-CoAs and activity decreases with increasing chain length. Isoform 2 is active against a much broader range of substrates and shows activity towards very long-chain acyl-CoAs. Isoform 1 shows optimum activity with a chain length of 10 carbons while isoform 2 exhibits optimum activity with 14 carbons.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 1 (Acox1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
