Related Product Information for CPE elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CPE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CPE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CPE is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CPE bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. It is a peripheral membrane protein. The protein specifically binds regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but not constitutively secreted proteins. Mutations in this gene are implicated in type II diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CPE: Removes residual C-terminal Arg or Lys remaining after initial endoprotease cleavage during prohormone processing. Processes proinsulin. Belongs to the peptidase M14 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human CPE cpe (Catalog #AAA944061) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA944061 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CPE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "carboxypeptidase E, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
