Related Product Information for anti-IL-12 Receptor beta2 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein identified as a subunit of the interleukin 12 receptor complex. The coexpression of this and IL12RB1 proteins was shown to lead to the formation of high-affinity IL12 binding sites and reconstitution of IL12 dependent signaling. The expression of this gene is up-regulated by interferon gamma in Th1 cells, and plays a role in Th1 cell differentiation. The up-regulation of this gene is found to be associated with a number of infectious diseases, such as Crohn's disease and leprosy, which is thought to contribute to the inflammatory response and host defense. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms and non-protein coding transcripts have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

Uniprot Description

IL12RB2: Receptor for interleukin-12. This subunit is the signaling component coupling to the JAK2/STAT4 pathway. Promotes the proliferation of T-cells as well as NK cells. Induces the promotion of T-cells towards the Th1 phenotype by strongly enhancing IFN-gamma production. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 2 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Cell cycle regulation; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p31.3-p31.2

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of interferon-gamma production; peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; interferon-gamma production; response to lipopolysaccharide

Product Notes

The IL-12 Receptor beta2 il12rb2 (Catalog #AAA9409629) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IL-12 Receptor beta2 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL-12 Receptor beta2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:500-1:3000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-12 Receptor beta2 il12rb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-12 Receptor beta2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
