NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. This kinase is regulated through direct phosphorylation by p38 MAP kinase. In conjunction with p38 MAP kinase, this kinase is known to be involved in many cellular processes including stress and inflammatory responses, nuclear export, gene expression regulation and cell proliferation. Heat shock protein HSP27 was shown to be one of the substrates of this kinase in vivo. Two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description
MAPKAPK2: a member of the MAPKAPK family of protein kinases. It is phosphorylated and activated by p38 in response to cytokines, stress and chemotactic factors.MAPKAPK-2 is apparently a direct target of p38 MAPK. HSP27 is one of its in vivo substrates. Two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The MAPKAPK-2 mapkapk2 (Catalog #AAA9401293) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAPKAPK-2 (Phospho-Thr334) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MAPKAPK-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500~1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50~1:100 Immunofluorescence: 1:100~1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAPKAPK-2 mapkapk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAPKAPK-2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
