Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for SIgA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SIgA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for SIgA is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SIgA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description

Siglec-9: Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- or alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.41

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; cell adhesion

Product Notes

The Human SIGLEC9 siglec9 (Catalog #AAA934943) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA934943 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SIGLEC9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 9, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
