NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein with similarity to the S. cerevisiae mutagenesis protein Rev1. The Rev1 proteins contain a BRCT domain, which is important in protein-protein interactions. A suggested role for the human Rev1-like protein is as a scaffold that recruits DNA polymerases involved in translesion synthesis (TLS) of damaged DNA. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

REV1L: Deoxycytidyl transferase involved in DNA repair. Transfers a dCMP residue from dCTP to the 3'-end of a DNA primer in a template-dependent reaction. May assist in the first step in the bypass of abasic lesions by the insertion of a nucleotide opposite the lesion. Required for normal induction of mutations by physical and chemical agents. Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-Y family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human REV1 rev1 (Catalog #AAA9329843) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9329843 ELISA Kit recognizes Human REV1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "REV1 homolog (S. cerevisiae), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
