NCBI Description

E2F transcription factors, such as E2F7, play an essential role in the regulation of cell cycle progression (Di Stefano et al., 2003 [PubMed 14633988]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2008]

Uniprot Description

E2F7: Along with E2F8, inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription that is important for the control of the E2F1-TP53 apoptotic pathway. Directly represses E2F1 transcription. Binds DNA independently of DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3'. Appears to regulate a subset of E2F-dependent genes whose products are required for normal cell cycle progession. Belongs to the E2F/DP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription factor; Cell cycle regulation; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.2

Cellular Component: transcription factor complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; transcription corepressor activity; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of DNA endoreduplication; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; sprouting angiogenesis; negative regulation of cytokinesis; placenta development

Product Notes

The Human E2F7 e2f7 (Catalog #AAA9327892) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9327892 ELISA Kit recognizes Human E2F7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E2F transcription factor 7, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
