Casc3 blocking peptide

CASC3 Blocking Peptide (C-term)

Gene Names
Casc3; Btz; Mln51
Synonyms
CASC3; CASC3 Blocking Peptide (C-term); Protein CASC3; Cancer susceptibility candidate gene 3 protein homolog; Metastatic lymph node gene 51 protein homolog; MLN 51 homolog; Protein barentsz; Btz; mBtz; Casc3; Mln51; Casc3 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 217-233 of MOUSE Casc3
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
698
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Nucleus. Nucleus speckle Note: Travels to the cytoplasm as part of the exon junction complex (EJC) bound to mRNA. Shuttles between the cytoplasm and the stress granules. More specifically found in nuclear intrachromatin granules clusters (IGC), also called nuclear speckles, which are storage compartments for nuclear proteins involved in mRNA processing. Colocalizes in nuclear speckles with MAGOH. Under stress condition, colocalizes with FMR1 and TIA1, but not MAGOH and RBM8A EJC core factors, in cytoplasmic stress granules, which contain stored mRNAs whose translation is stopped in response to stress (By similarity). Predominantly found in the perinuclear region. Shuttles between the nucleus and the cytoplasm in a CRM1- dependent manner.
Tissue Location
High levels in heart, brain, including hippocampus and cerebellum, liver, kidney and testis; lower levels in muscle, lung and spleen.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for Casc3 blocking peptide
Core component of the splicing-dependent multiprotein exon junction complex (EJC) deposited at splice junctions on mRNAs. The EJC is a dynamic structure consisting of core proteins and several peripheral nuclear and cytoplasmic associated factors that join the complex only transiently either during EJC assembly or during subsequent mRNA metabolism. The EJC marks the position of the exon-exon junction in the mature mRNA for the gene expression machinery and the core components remain bound to spliced mRNAs throughout all stages of mRNA metabolism thereby influencing downstream processes including nuclear mRNA export, subcellular mRNA localization, translation efficiency and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). Stimulates the ATPase and RNA- helicase activities of EIF4A3. Plays a role in the stress response by participating in cytoplasmic stress granules assembly and by favoring cell recovery following stress. Component of the dendritic ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs) in hippocampal neurons. May play a role in mRNA transport. Binds spliced mRNA in sequence-independent manner, 20-24 nucleotides upstream of mRNA exon-exon junctions. Binds poly(G) and poly(U) RNA homopolymer (By similarity).

Uniprot Description

CASC3: Component of a splicing-dependent multiprotein exon junction complex (EJC) deposited at splice junction on mRNAs. The EJC is a dynamic structure consisting of a few core proteins and several more peripheral nuclear and cytoplasmic associated factors that join the complex only transiently either during EJC assembly or during subsequent mRNA metabolism. Core components of the EJC, that remains bound to spliced mRNAs throughout all stages of mRNA metabolism, functions to mark the position of the exon-exon junction in the mature mRNA and thereby influences downstream processes of gene expression including mRNA splicing, nuclear mRNA export, subcellular mRNA localization, translation efficiency and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). Binds poly(G) and poly(U) RNA homopolymer. Belongs to the CASC3 family.

Product Notes

The Casc3 casc3 (Catalog #AAA9230916) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CASC3, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
