NCBI Description

CDC42 is a member of the Rho GTPase family that regulates multiple cellular activities, including actin polymerization. The protein encoded by this gene is a CDC42 binding protein that mediates actin cytoskeleton reorganization at the plasma membrane. This protein is secreted and is primarily found in bone marrow. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CDC42EP1: Probably involved in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton. Induced membrane extensions in fibroblasts. Belongs to the BORG/CEP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.1

Cellular Component: actin cytoskeleton; cytoplasm; focal adhesion; Golgi apparatus; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: GTP-Rho binding; GTPase activator activity; protein binding

Product Notes

The CDC42EP1 cdc42ep1 (Catalog #AAA9223939) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDC42EP1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
