Ordering
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
371
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Cell projection, growth cone. Note: In neurons, seems to concentrate at axonal growth cone. Perinuclear in neurons (By similarity).
Tissue Location
Highly expressed in brain, heart, skeletal muscle and salivary gland, and moderately in kidney and liver Expressed in dendritic cells, but not in other blood cells Expression levels are low in pancreatic and liver cancer tissues; absent in meningioma. Expressed in low-grade gliomas but present at low levels in glioblastoma. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are present in brain neurons and up-regulated in Alzheimer disease (at protein level).
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for NDRG2 blocking peptide
Contributes to the regulation of the Wnt signaling pathway. Down-regulates CTNNB1-mediated transcriptional activation of target genes, such as CCND1, and may thereby act as tumor suppressor. May be involved in dendritic cell and neuron differentiation.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the N-myc downregulated gene family which belongs to the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic protein that may play a role in neurite outgrowth. This gene may be involved in glioblastoma carcinogenesis. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NDRG2: a pro-apoptotic protein that may be involved in dendritic cell and neuron differentiation. May have anti-tumor activity. Generally not expressed in tumor cell lines. Unlike Ndr1, Ndr2 and Ndr3 appear not to be controlled by N-myc or c-myc. The loss of NDRG2 expression has been shown to be a prognostic indicator in gastric carcinomas. Five isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Isoforms 1 and 2 are present in brain neurons and up-regulated in Alzheimer disease

Protein type: Tumor suppressor; Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q11.2

Cellular Component: centrosome; cytoplasm; Golgi apparatus; microtubule organizing center; nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: signal transduction; substantia nigra development

Product Notes

The NDRG2 ndrg2 (Catalog #AAA9221057) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NDRG2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
