Rabbit anti-Mouse Dcdc2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-Dcdc2 antibody
Mouse Dcdc2 Antibody (C-term)
protein encoded by this gene contains two doublecortin domains. The
doublecortin domain has been demonstrated to bind tubulin and
enhance microtubule polymerization. Alternatively spliced
transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for
this gene.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the doublecortin family. The protein encoded by this gene contains two doublecortin domains. The doublecortin domain has been demonstrated to bind tubulin and enhance microtubule polymerization. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Uniprot Description
DCDC2: May be involved in neuronal migration during development of the cerebral neocortex. Defects in DCDC2 may be a cause of susceptibility to dyslexia type 2 (DYX2); also known as specific reading disability type 2. Dyslexia is a relatively common, complex cognitive disorder that affects 5% to 10% of school-aged children. The disorder is characterized by an impairment of reading performance despite adequate motivational, educational and intellectual opportunities and in the absence of sensory or neurological disability. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Cellular Component: cytoplasm
Biological Process: nervous system development; dendrite morphogenesis; neuron migration; visual learning; positive regulation of smoothened signaling pathway
