Related Product Information for anti-BICD2 antibody
Acts as an adapter protein linking the dynein motor complex to various cargos and converts dynein from a non-processive to a highly processive motor in the presence of dynactin. Facilitates and stabilizes the interaction between dynein and dynactin and activates dynein processivity (the ability to move along a microtubule for a long distance without falling off the track). Facilitates the binding of RAB6A to the Golgi by stabilizing its GTP-bound form. Regulates coat complex coatomer protein I (COPI)-independent Golgi-endoplasmic reticulum transport via its interaction with RAB6A and recruitment of the dynein-dynactin motor complex (PubMed:25962623). Contributes to nuclear and centrosomal positioning prior to mitotic entry through regulation of both dynein and kinesin-1. During G2 phase of the cell cycle, associates with RANBP2 at the nuclear pores and recruits dynein and dynactin to the nuclear envelope to ensure proper positioning of the nucleus relative to centrosomes prior to the onset of mitosis.

Uniprot Description

BICD2: May play a role in the dynein-dynactin interactions on the surface of membranous organelles, by associating with these complexes. Regulates coat complex coatomer protein I (COPI)- independent Golgi-endoplasmic reticulum transport by recruiting the dynein-dynactin motor complex. Belongs to the BicD family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The BICD2 bicd2 (Catalog #AAA8547837) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BICD2 Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BICD2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BICD2 bicd2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BICD2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
