Related Product Information for anti-Smad4 antibody
Smad proteins, the mammalian homologs of the Drosophila Mothers against dpp (Mad), have been implicated as downstream effectors of TGFbeta/BMP signaling. Smad1, Smad5, and Smad8 are effectors of BMP2 and BMP4 function while Smad2 and Smad3 are involved in TGF-beta and activin-mediated growth modulation. Smad4 has been shown to mediate all of the above activities through interaction with various Smad family members. Smad6 and Smad7 regulate the response to activin/TGFbeta signaling by interfering with TGFbeta-mediated phosphorylation of other Smad family members.

Uniprot Description

SMAD4: transcription factor that mediates signal transduction by the transforming growth factor superfamily. The common smad (co-smad). Binds directly to consensus DNA-binding elements in the promoters of target genes. Promotes binding of the Smad2/Smad4/Fast-1 complex to DNA and provides an activation function required for Smad1 or Smad2 to stimulate transcription.

Product Notes

The Smad4 smad4 (Catalog #AAA847458) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Smad4 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Smad4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IHC: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Smad4 smad4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Smad4, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
