SLC5A2: Sodium-dependent glucose transporter. Has a Na(+) to glucose coupling ratio of 1:1. Defects in SLC5A2 are the cause of renal glucosuria (GLYS1). GLYS1 is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by a normal fasting serum glucose concentration and persistent isolated glucosuria, with a normal glucose tolerance test. Belongs to the sodium:solute symporter (SSF) (TC 2.A.21) family.

AAA Biotech's SGLT-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of active SGLT-2. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37 degree C. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SGLT-2 slc5a2 for an application not listed in the data sheet.
