Background: GH is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones which play an important role in growth control. It is a 191-amino acid, single chain polypeptide hormone which is synthesized, stored, and secreted by the somatotroph cells within the lateral wings of the anterior pituitary gland. The gene, along with four other related genes, is located at the growth hormone locus on chromosome 17 where they are interspersed in the same transcriptional orientation; an arrangement which is thought to have evolved by a series of gene duplications. The five genes share a remarkably high degree of sequence identity. Alternative splicing generates additional isoforms of each of the five growth hormones, leading to further diversity and potential for specialization. This particular family member is expressed in the pituitary but not in placental tissue as is the case for the other four genes in the growth hormone locus.

Product Notes
The GH gh (Catalog #AAA840633) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Chicken Growth Hormone Antibody reacts with Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Chicken Growth Hormone can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blot: ~1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GH gh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chicken Growth Hormone, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
