NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This receptor specifically binds interleukin 18 (IL18), and is essential for IL18 mediated signal transduction. IFN-alpha and IL12 are reported to induce the expression of this receptor in NK and T cells. This gene along with four other members of the interleukin 1 receptor family, including IL1R2, IL1R1, ILRL2 (IL-1Rrp2), and IL1RL1 (T1/ST2), form a gene cluster on chromosome 2q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL18R1: Receptor for interleukin 18 (IL-18). Binding to the agonist leads to the activation of NF-kappa-B. Belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family.

Product Notes

The IL18R1 il18r1 (Catalog #AAA8309583) is a Blocking Peptide produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD218a Blocking Peptide reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD218a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking (BL). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL18R1 il18r1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD218a, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
