Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an angiogenic factor which promotes angiogenesis in vivo and stimulates the in vitro growth of a variety of endothelial cells. It has a highly restricted target cell specificity acting only on endothelial cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

Uniprot Description

ECGF1: May have a role in maintaining the integrity of the blood vessels. Has growth promoting activity on endothelial cells, angiogenic activity in vivo and chemotactic activity on endothelial cells in vitro. Homodimer. Belongs to the thymidine/pyrimidine-nucleoside phosphorylase family.

Protein type: EC 2.4.2.4; Cytokine; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - other enzymes; Nucleotide Metabolism - pyrimidine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Phosphorylase; Transferase; DNA replication

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.33

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: phosphorylase activity; platelet-derived growth factor receptor binding; transferase activity, transferring pentosyl groups

Biological Process: DNA replication; mitochondrial genome maintenance; pyrimidine nucleoside catabolic process; pyrimidine nucleoside salvage; pyrimidine nucleotide metabolic process

Disease: Mitochondrial Dna Depletion Syndrome 1 (mngie Type)

Product Notes

The TYMP tymp (Catalog #AAA8247716) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Thymidine Phosphorylase Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Thymidine Phosphorylase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000, Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry: 1/50 - 1/200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TYMP tymp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Thymidine Phosphorylase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
