Intended Uses: This BGOy/MGSA ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Goat BGOy/MGSA. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: BGOy/MGSA ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-BGOy/MGSA antibody and an BGOy/MGSA-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with BGOy/MGSA-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the BGOy/MGSA concentration since BGOy/MGSA from samples and BGOy/MGSA-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-BGOy/MGSA antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by BGOy/MGSA from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind BGOy/MGSA-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The BGOy/MGSA concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The encoded protein is a secreted growth factor that signal through the G-protein coupled receptor, CXC receptor 2. This protein plays a role in inflammation and as a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Aberrant expression this protein is associated with the growth and progression of certain tumors. A naturally occurring processed form of this protein has increased chemotactic activity. Alternate splicing results in coding and non-coding variants of this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 4. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Uniprot Description

CXCL1: Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO- alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The Goat BGOy / MGSA cxcl1 (Catalog #AAA755111) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA755111 ELISA Kit recognizes Goat BGOy / MGSA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Growth-regulated oncogeneY/melanoma growth stimulating activity, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
