Intended Uses: This BATF ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rabbit BATF. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: BATF ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-BATF antibody and an BATF-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with BATF-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the BATF concentration since BATF from samples and BATF-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-BATF antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by BATF from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind BATF-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The BATF concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear basic leucine zipper protein that belongs to the AP-1/ATF superfamily of transcription factors. The leucine zipper of this protein mediates dimerization with members of the Jun family of proteins. This protein is thought to be a negative regulator of AP-1/ATF transcriptional events. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

BATF: a nuclear basic leucine zipper protein that belongs to the AP-1/ATF superfamily of transcription factors. Functions as a negative regulator of AP-1 mediated transcription by binding to Jun proteins. Jun/B-ATF heterodimers bind DNA preferentially at the 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13- acetate response element (TRE) and weaker at the cAMP responsive region (CRE), but are transcriptionally inert.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q24.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription, DNA-dependent; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator; isotype switching; cytokine production; lymphoid progenitor cell differentiation; myeloid dendritic cell differentiation; T-helper 2 cell differentiation; defense response to protozoan; response to DNA damage stimulus

Product Notes

The Rabbit BATF batf (Catalog #AAA723457) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA723457 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit BATF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Basic leucine zipper transcription factor ATF-like, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
