NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily, and TIM family of proteins. CD4-positive T helper lymphocytes can be divided into types 1 (Th1) and 2 (Th2) on the basis of their cytokine secretion patterns. Th1 cells are involved in cell-mediated immunity to intracellular pathogens and delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, whereas, Th2 cells are involved in the control of extracellular helminthic infections and the promotion of atopic and allergic diseases. This protein is a Th1-specific cell surface protein that regulates macrophage activation, and inhibits Th1-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses, and promotes immunological tolerance. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

TIM-3: Regulates macrophage activation. Inhibits T-helper type 1 lymphocyte (Th1)-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses and promotes immunological tolerance. May be also involved in T-cell homing. Receptor for LGALS9. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. TIM family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The HAVCR2 havcr2 (Catalog #AAA7041734) is an Antibody Pair produced from Capture: Rabbit Detection: Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HAVCR2 Antibody Pair reacts with Human, Guinea Pig, Bovine, Horse, Pig, Dog, Chicken, Goat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HAVCR2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Sandwich ELISA (EIA). We recommend using the capture antibody at a concentration of 0.5ug/ml and the detection antibody at a concentration of 0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HAVCR2 havcr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HAVCR2, Polyclonal Antibody Pair" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
