NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Putative ATP-dependent protease. Plays a role in mitochondrial organization and mitochondrial protein metabolism, including degradation of PRELID1 and OPA1. Ensures cell proliferation, maintains normal cristae morphology and complex I respiration activity, promotes antiapoptotic activity and protects mitochondria from the accumulation of oxidatively damaged membrane proteins. Required to control the accumulation of nonassembled respiratory chain subunits (NDUFB6, OX4 and ND1).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATP-dependent zinc metalloprotease YME1L1 (Yme1l1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
