Related Product Information for CXCL15 active protein
Lungkine is a CXC chemokine that is expressed in lung epithelial cells and, to a lesser extent, in certain fetal tissues. No human homolog has been identified and a specific cell surface receptor has not yet been found. Lungkine expression in lung tissue is elevated in response to inflammation, at which time it acts to specifically recruit neutrophils and direct them into the lung airway. Recombinant murine Lungkine is a 16.3 kDa CXC chemokine consisting of 142 amino acid residues, including four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Uniprot Description

Function: Chemotactic for neutrophils. Involved in lung-specific neutrophil trafficking during normal and inflammatory conditions. Ref.1 Ref.5

Subcellular location: Secreted Ref.1.

Tissue specificity: Expression restricted to the lung, produced by bronchoepithelial cells and is released into the airways. Expressed at low levels in fetal lung. Ref.1 Ref.5

Induction: By inflammation; in lung. Ref.1

Disruption phenotype: Mice develop normally and are fertile. They display normal leukocyte subpopulations in peripheral blood and bone marrow, but the amount of neutrophils is reduced in the airspace. Susceptibility to pneumonia induced by K.pneumoniae is increased with decreased survival and increased bacterial burden in lung. Ref.5

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The CXCL15 cxcl15 (Catalog #AAA692121) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Lungkine (CXCL15) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QELRCLCIQE HSEFIPLKLI KNIMVIFETI YCNRKEVIAV PKNGSM ICLD PDAPWVKATV GPITNRFLPE DLKQKEFPPA MKLLYSVEHE K PLYLSFGRP ENKRIFPFPI RETSRHFADL AHNSDRNFLR DSSEVSL TGS DA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lungkine (CXCL15), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
